Tips and Food…. Eastside Culture Crawl artist of the day… kind of (according to me)

Ok, the weather is going to be a bit icky this weekend. Here are some strategies to make your Eastside Culture Crawl experience stellar! Wear warm, waterproof boots, raincoat and hat. Umbrellas are ok…. just be careful with them in the artists studios/homes. I also recommend bringing your own reusable shopping bags… good for the environment and all that good stuff. Be respectful of the artist spaces… it is their work location and in most cases their homes. FYI, most of the artists only take cash or cheques.

Now, let’s talk food in the area! There are some great spots to check out during the Eastside Culture Crawl and their support this weekend is so appreciated! Uprisings Bakery, Union Market, Docker’s, Fujiya, Radha Yoga and one of the favourite spots to visit for food are the spots for perogies! Be sure to check out the Ukrainian Centre and the Russian Hall.  Borscht are great yucky weather warm-up foods.

The Eastside Culture Crawl is an annual FREE 3-day visual arts festival. This event involves artists in their studios who work on the east side of Vancouver, BC, Canada in an area bounded by Main Street to Commercial Drive and from First Avenue north to the waterfront. Check out for loads more information.
